Meeting with a Member of the European Parliament

On 4 April 2024, the students of the European Studies Club organised a meeting with Waldemar Tomaszewski, Member of the European Parliament. The MEP is a co-founder of the European Conservatives and Reformists faction in the European Parliament, a member of the ECR Board and vice-chair of the Delegation for relations with Belarus. During the meeting, Mr Valdemar Tomaševski presented selected aspects of the functioning of the European Parliament. He highlighted his activities in the Parliamentary Intergroup for Traditional National and Linguistic Minorities, where he co-authored an EU document on the protection of education, language, culture and identity of persons belonging to national and ethnic minorities in Europe. He has twice organised in Strasbourg and Brussels the conference of the international movement "Europa Christi" , and in Vilnius - an away meeting of the parliamentary fraction (Study Days), where he publicised important issues of protection of education and rights of national minorities. He personally (in the 2009-2024 term) provided internships in the European Parliament for as many as 130 people, among whom were also students of our Faculty. It was an interesting and inspiring meeting!
