The Branch of the University of Białystok in Vilnius holds a significant place on Lithuania’s educational map. Established through the cooperation of Polish and Lithuanian authorities, it became the first foreign university branch in Lithuania and the first faculty of a Polish university outside the country. Since its opening in 2007, it has played a key role in educating Poles in Lithuania and supporting the local community.

Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, the university operates in a modern facility located at Aguonu Street 22 in Vilnius. The building was officially opened on July 6, 2024. The investment was financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland and the University of Białystok.

The branch offers four study programs: Economics, European Studies, and Informatics (bachelor's programs), as well as Preschool and Early Childhood Pedagogy (a five-year master's program). Graduates of bachelor's programs can continue their studies with a two-year master's degree in Economics. Each year, nearly 200 students begin their studies at the university, and since its establishment, over 900 graduates have obtained their diplomas. Most find employment in fields related to their studies, contributing to regional development, while others choose to work abroad or pursue different career paths.

The mission of the branch is to support the Polish community in Lithuania by providing education in the Polish language, promoting culture and national heritage, and creating a platform for the exchange of ideas. The university actively participates in cultural initiatives and collaborates with educational institutions, as well as local and international organizations. This cooperation gives students access to a wide range of resources and opportunities for both professional and academic development.

Student life at the university is vibrant and dynamic. The Student Council organizes integration events, while those interested in academic pursuits can join scientific clubs. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus program, gaining international experience and broadening their horizons.

The Branch of the University of Białystok in Vilnius is a modern institution that combines high-quality education with active engagement in the local community. Through close cooperation with academic and business sectors, it responds to the evolving needs of the job market and supports the development of the Polish minority in Lithuania.
