8 March is celebrated as International Women's Day — a holiday expressing recognition of the role of women in social, academic, and professional life. On this occasion, a day later, on Monday 9 March, the Student Government Council organised a meeting with inspiring women connected to the Branch of the University of Białystok in Vilnius.
The event aimed to highlight the significance of women's contributions to the development of the academic community and to create a space for sharing experience, knowledge, and inspiration. The meeting comprised two presentations delivered by distinguished representatives of the academic environment.
Dr hab. Alina Grynia addressed the topic "The Labour Market in 2026: What Competencies Give Women and Men the Edge?". The discussion centred around the question: "Do key skills have a gender?" Students engaged actively in the conversation, sharing their observations and reflections. In turn, the Vice-Dean for Research and Development of the UwB Branch in Vilnius, Dr Regina Lašakevič, shared her reflections and experience related to academic work and professional development, drawing attention to the role of women in the academic environment and their contribution to the university's growth.
The Student Government Council extends its warmest wishes to all women who make up the university community, wishing them great success, fulfilment in the challenges they undertake, constant inspiration, and prosperity in both their professional and personal lives.
