Tutoring Training for Academic Staff

25.03.2026

On 25 March, tutoring training sessions were held for academic staff of the University of Białystok Branch in Vilnius.

The event comprised an 8-hour training programme in didactic work using the academic tutoring method. Its objectives were to develop participants' competencies in the following areas:

  • applying developmental and scholarly tutoring tools;
  • planning the structure of tutoring processes and implementing them within an institutional setting;
  • accompanying students throughout the process of independent learning;
  • diagnosing and eliminating disruptions and systemic barriers to tutoring.

The training was delivered by Dr Beata Karpińska-Musiał, Professor at the University of Gdańsk — an anglicist and educationalist who has been a member of the academic and teaching staff at the University of Gdańsk since 2004. She teaches courses in linguistics, foreign language pedagogy [glottodydaktyka], and intercultural education, as well as delivering her own original lectures on university transformation and elective classes within teacher-training specialisations.
