The Association of Polish Scientists in Lithuania has organized, for the eighth time, a competition for the best qualification thesis (bachelor’s or master’s) in the broadly understood field of issues related to the Vilnius Region. Bachelor’s and master’s theses defended in 2025 were eligible for submission.
A total of 8 theses were submitted to the competition: 3 bachelor’s theses and 1 master’s thesis from the Vilnius branch of the University of Białystok, 1 bachelor’s thesis from Vilnius University, 1 bachelor’s thesis from Vytautas Magnus University, as well as 1 bachelor’s thesis and 1 master’s thesis from the University of Łódź.
The competition jury, consisting of Dr. Barbara Dwilewicz, Dr. Justyna Łuczyńska, Prof. Dr. W. Stankiewicz, Prof. Dr. Aleksander Waszkiewicz, and Prof. Dr. hab. Jarosław Wołkonowski, awarded 4 theses:
First prize, together with a cash award of EUR 200 and an e-reader, was awarded to Diana Lukoic for her bachelor’s thesis entitled “Economic Activity of Enterprises with Foreign Capital in Lithuania”, written at the Vilnius branch of the University of Białystok under the supervision of Dr. hab. Alina Grynia.
Second prize, along with cash awards of EUR 150 and e-readers, was awarded to two recipients: Monika Kołoševska for her bachelor’s thesis “Poles in the Vilnius Region: A Revision of Research Contexts”, written at the University of Łódź under the supervision of Dr. Piotr Olkusz, and Tatsiana Malenovska for her bachelor’s thesis “Feminine Names in the Polish Language and Students’ Linguistic Awareness”, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Irena Masojć.
Third prize, together with a cash award of EUR 200, was awarded to Aurelija Tomaševič for her bachelor’s thesis “The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Performance of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Lithuania in the Context of Changes in Selected Indicators”, written at the Vilnius branch of the University of Białystok under the supervision of Dr. hab. Alina Grynia.
The sponsor of the cash prizes is the Association of Polish Scientists in Lithuania.
The sponsor of the material prizes (e-readers) is the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Vilnius.
