The Pedagogy of Silence – Between Presence and Word

On 26 March, an international academic conference entitled "The Pedagogy of Silence – Between Presence and Word" was held at the Branch of the University of Białystok in Vilnius. The event was held in a hybrid format, bringing together participants both in person and online.

The conference was opened by the Dean of the Branch, Associate Professor Urszula Wróblewska, who introduced the conference theme, highlighting the significance of silence in education and its role in the contemporary world. Academic presentations followed, addressing various dimensions of silence in educational, pedagogical, and social contexts. The programme included papers by researchers from a range of academic institutions as well as contributions from practitioners in the field of education.

The conference provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and reflect on the place of silence in the learning process, personal development, and interpersonal relations.
