The Council of the Baltic Sea States in a Changing International Reality

On 26 March, an academic seminar organised by the Department of European Studies was held at the Branch of the University of Białystok in Vilnius, under the title "The Council of the Baltic Sea States in a Changing International Reality". The lecture was delivered by Associate Professor Kazimierz Musiał of the University of Gdańsk, Senior Advisor for Regional Identity at the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS).

Professor Musiał is a distinguished sociologist and Scandinavian studies scholar specialising in Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea region. A graduate of Danish philology, he spent many years at the Department of Scandinavian Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, held a fellowship at the University of Copenhagen, and has extensive experience as a researcher and coordinator of academic projects in Germany and Poland. He currently works at the Department of Scandinavian and Finnic Studies at the University of Gdańsk, leads the Nordic-Baltic and Arctic Interdisciplinary Research Unit, and serves as an advisor to the Council of the Baltic Sea States on matters of regional identity.
