On 2 May, the Parade of Polishness (Parada Polskości) was held in Vilnius, with the participation of students and staff of the Branch of the University of Białystok in Vilnius. The event brought together Poles from the Vilnius region, representatives of Polish schools, ensembles, and numerous Polish diaspora organisations. The city's streets were filled with the white-and-red national colours, singing, and traditional costumes.
The Parade was organised on the occasion of the Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad, the Day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland, and the 235th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of 3 May. This year's edition marked the sixteenth time the event has been held.
The procession, numbering several thousand participants, marched through the streets of Vilnius to the Gate of Dawn, where a solemn Mass was celebrated before the image of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn. The event was an expression of attachment to Polish tradition, culture, and national community.
In the evening, as part of the Parade of Polishness celebrations, a concert entitled "Folk Songs Differently" ("Pieśni ludowe inaczej") was performed by the Song and Dance Ensemble "Ojcowizna" and the group "Art of Music."
