29.05.2026

On 29 May, the Branch of the University of Białystok in Vilnius was visited by Janušas Kizinevičius, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania. The meeting was held as part of a series of open lectures and was addressed primarily to students of Economics.

During the lecture, the Minister spoke to students about his educational and professional path, showing how the education he gained, international experience, and a consistently built career can translate into later work in public institutions and the financial sector. Janušas Kizinevičius completed a master's degree in Law at Vilnius University, followed by a master's degree in Finance and Accounting at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). He gained professional experience, among other roles, as a lawyer at the Varul law firm, as a corporate governance and strategic projects analyst at HSBC Bank Polska S.A., and subsequently as Vice President at Citi Handlowy Bank and Senior Vice President at Citibank, part of the Citigroup group. Since 2025, he has served as Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania.

In his remarks, the Minister emphasized that cooperation, building connections, and actively making use of the opportunities offered by university studies are extremely important for professional development. He pointed out that it is worth gaining experience already during one's studies, getting involved in various initiatives, developing competencies, and taking advantage of opportunities to meet people, since relationships and the ability to cooperate play a very important role in one's further career.

The meeting was inspiring and practical in nature. Students had the opportunity to ask numerous questions concerning professional careers, work in the financial sector, public administration, and the competencies needed in today's labour market. The Minister readily shared his experience and advice, encouraging young people to plan their professional future consciously.

We warmly thank the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania, Mr. Janušas Kizinevičius, for visiting the Branch, for an interesting lecture, and for an inspiring meeting with students.
