On June 10, a meeting took place at the University of Białystok Branch in Vilnius with guests representing the Polish social and cultural community in Lithuania. The Branch was visited by veterans of the "Wilia" Song and Dance Ensemble, representatives of the Union of Poles in Lithuania led by Mrs. Krystyna Radziun, chair of the ZPL "Karolina" Circle, representatives of the Senior Teachers' Club led by chair Zofia Kuncewicz, and representatives of the University of the Third Age in Vilnius led by chair Mrs. Jadwiga Wołkowska.
The meeting was informational in nature and was devoted to the history of the first Polish institution of higher education in Lithuania (Universitas Studiorum Polona Vilnensis) and the current activities of the University of Białystok Branch in Vilnius. At the start, the guests toured the Branch's building, familiarizing themselves with its teaching and organizational spaces.
The history of the first Polish institution of higher education in Lithuania was presented in detail by Professor Romuald Brazis, while the history and present-day activities of the UwB Branch in Vilnius were presented by Dr. Regina Lasakevič.
The meeting took place in a very warm atmosphere. The guests expressed satisfaction with the visit and declared their willingness to take part in open lectures organized in the next academic year, as well as their readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Branch.
