Four economics students from the University of Białystok Branch in Vilnius took part in the international summer course "Management for Business Startups – 2026 Summer Course," organized by the Agricultural Academy of Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) in Kaunas.
The event was attended by first-year economics students Agnesa Skokova and Dominika Tumińska, as well as second-year students Agata Klimovič and Ana Banuševič.
The students' participation in the course was the result of the growing cooperation between the UwB Branch in Vilnius and Vytautas Magnus University. During a spring meeting with VDU's leadership, devoted to the further development of academic cooperation, Prof. Jan Žukovskis proposed that Branch students take part in the summer business school.
The course ran from June 1–12, 2026, and included both remote and on-site classes at the VDU Agricultural Academy in Kaunas. Participants gained practical skills in creating a business plan, developing a Business Model Canvas, budgeting, marketing, and preparing professional project presentations.
On June 11, 2026, the final business project presentations were held. Students from the UwB Branch in Vilnius presented two ventures: "Oro Italiana," prepared by Dominika Tumińska and Agnesa Skokova, and "Learn Lab," developed by Ana Banuševič and Agata Klimovič.
The final presentations were also attended by representatives of the UwB Branch in Vilnius: Dr. Regina Lašakevič, Vice-Dean of the Branch for Science and Development, who served as a member of the project evaluation committee, and Evelina Sudeiko, President of the Student Economics Circle. Their presence underscored the significance of the Branch's involvement in international educational initiatives and the development of inter-university cooperation.
The summer business school was attended by students and representatives of various universities and institutions from Lithuania, Japan, and Poland, including Vytautas Magnus University, Saga University, the University of Białystok, and the University of Siedlce. The evaluation committee included representatives from numerous academic centers in Poland and Lithuania.
Participation in the course was a valuable experience for the students, allowing them to develop competencies in entrepreneurship, project work, and public speaking, as well as to gain experience in an international academic environment.
