Inauguration of the Academic Year 2023/2024
On October 13th, a solemn inauguration of the academic year 2023/2024 for the Vilnius Branch of the University of Bialystok took place at the Polish Cultural Center in Vilnius. This marks the 17th year of the Polish university's activity in Lithuania.
This academic year, 171 students commenced their studies. In the Bachelor's program in Economics, there are 38 enrolled students, 18 in the Master's program in Economics, 39 in Computer Science, and 36 in European Studies. A new addition this year is the direction of Preschool and Early School Pedagogy, attracting as many as 40 students.
An additional educational option for students in this new field is participation in the Theological-Catechetical Course, after which graduates will be able to teach religion in schools or other educational institutions.
The inaugural lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Elżbieta Awramiuk on the topic, "Will a Pole always understand another Pole? On the differentiation of contemporary Polish language."
The ceremony was attended by university authorities, guests, lecturers, parents, friends, and alumni's companions.
