On May 8, the Branch of the University of Białystok in Vilnius hosted the International Student Conference “Historical Discourses on Special Education.” The event was organized by students of the Faculty of Education Sciences at the University of Białystok under the supervision of Dr. hab. Urszula Wróblewska, Prof. UwB.
The program included several presentations addressing issues related to the history of special education, such as the development of typhlopedagogy, surdopedagogy, the history of juvenile resocialization, music therapy, and the historical perspective on the rights of people with disabilities.
The conference was attended by students of Preschool and Early School Education. The event provided an excellent opportunity for the exchange of ideas and experiences, as well as for integrating the academic community around the historical study of special education.
