On 17 April, staff of the Branch of the University of Białystok in Vilnius took part in the FTMC Pavasario krosas 2026 (FTMC Spring Run 2026), a sporting event for the academic community directed at staff from universities and research institutions across Lithuania.
The event, which is gradually developing into an initiative that brings the academic community together, was held in the picturesque setting of the Sapieginė Nature Trail in Vilnius. Participants could choose from running routes of 3, 6, or 9 km, and also take part in a 3 km walk, including the option of nordic walking with poles.
The gathering had not only a sporting but also an integrative character, fostering connections between staff from different universities and research centres. After the run, participants were treated to a shared meal of traditional Lithuanian buckwheat porridge and tea.
The event was organised by FTMC (the Physical and Technological Sciences Centre), with partners including the Vilnius University Health and Sports Centre and the VILNIUS TECH Sports and Arts Centre's Sports Division.
