With profound respect and gratitude, we sincerely thank Dean Dr. Hab. Jerzy Halicki, Prof. UwB, for his exceptional dedication and invaluable contributions to the development of the branch of the University of Bialystok in Vilnius. During his four-year term of office (2020–2024), Dean Halicki played an important role in advancing our institution, introducing innovative changes, and implementing ambitious projects.
Thanks to his vision and determination, we successfully launched a new field of study—Preschool and Early School Pedagogy—which has been met with considerable interest from students. This addition not only enriched the educational offerings of our Branch but also strengthened its status as a key center for teacher training in the region and across Lithuania.
Dean Halicki’s time as Dean was also marked by significant improvements to our infrastructure. His dedicated efforts led to the construction of a new headquarters on Aguonų Street in Vilnius, equipped with modern lecture halls, laboratories, and versatile spaces for learning and collaboration. Although the new building will become fully operational in the upcoming academic year, it already represents a major step forward in enhancing the working conditions for both students and staff, while reinforcing the university's image in Vilnius.
Under Dean Halicki’s leadership, our Branch built stronger partnerships with various schools, companies, institutions, and universities—both locally and internationally. These collaborations have expanded opportunities for student and staff mobility, enriching the educational and scientific work of our institution.
