Graduates of the UwB Vilnius Branch receive their diplomas. A festive close to another stage of studies
On 15 July, a formal diploma ceremony for graduates of the 10th cohort of Master's studies and the 17th cohort of Bachelor's studies took place at the University of Białystok Vilnius Branch, at the university's premises at Aguonų 22.
The event brought together graduates, their families, friends, lecturers, guests and representatives of the university authorities. The University of Białystok was represented by the Vice-Rector for Education, Dr. hab. Krzysztof Korotkich, Professor at UwB. The ceremony was also attended by the Dean of the UwB Vilnius Branch, Dr. hab. Urszula Wróblewska, Professor at UwB; the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and Teaching, Dr. Elżbieta Majewska; and the Vice-Dean for Research and Development, Dr. Regina Lašakevič.
This year, 48 graduates of four fields of study received their diplomas:
The ceremony was a special moment of reflection on several years of learning, gaining knowledge and developing interests. Graduates leave the Branch not only with diplomas, but also with experiences gained through participation in projects, academic events and activities for the benefit of the university community.
Honorary Diplomas for Academic Excellence
Nine graduates received Honorary Diplomas for outstanding academic results:
Awards for Activity
This year's graduates repeatedly took part in activities that enriched the academic community of the UwB Vilnius Branch. During the ceremony, seven graduates were honoured for their active involvement and exceptional commitment to the academic community.
Awards were received by:
The Last Cohort to Remember the First Premises
On behalf of the graduates, the special character of this year's cohort was emphasised:
When we started our studies, none of us knew how many experiences and memories the coming years would bring. We are the last cohort that remembers classes on Kalwaryjska Street. We were also lucky enough to study in the new building on Makowa Street.
As the graduates noted, their studies were about more than acquiring knowledge.
Studying here was not only about learning. Above all, it was about the people we met, the friendships that will stay with us for years, the shared projects, trips and moments spent together. It is these experiences that made this time truly special.
Student Activity
Several graduates of first-cycle Economics were actively involved for years in the Student Government Council. They helped organise academic events and took part in trips and initiatives that brought students together. One of the last undertakings they co-organised was the blood donation drive „Kropelka krwi w darze" ("A Drop of Blood as a Gift"), in which 33 people took part.
As they recall:
The years spent at the UwB Vilnius Branch were a special time for us. Our studies gave us the opportunity to meet many wonderful people, develop our interests and take an active part in academic life.
A large proportion of this year's European Studies graduates were also active in the Robert Schuman Student Scientific Society of European Studies. Students took part in parliamentary internships, organised debates and got involved in numerous research and community projects.
Daniel Liubianiec, a Computer Science graduate, has also left a lasting legacy. While still a student, he put his knowledge into practice by creating a chatbot for students of the UwB Vilnius Branch. The tool helps users of the university website quickly find the information they need and supports new students in adapting to academic life.
Since the University of Białystok Vilnius Branch began its activities, more than 1,000 graduates have completed their studies. This is an important contribution by the university to Polish-Lithuanian academic cooperation and to the education of successive generations of specialists.
We wish this year's graduates professional and personal success, courage in taking on new challenges, and satisfaction on the road ahead.
