Transnational cooperation of the Poland–Lithuania border regions

On January 16, the Cross-Border Science–Business–Local Government Forum was held at the Vilnius branch of the University of Białystok, dedicated to cooperation between the border regions of Poland and Lithuania. The event was attended by leaders of the border regions from both countries, representatives of universities, business communities, and public administration.

The forum provided a platform to discuss how to effectively combine the potential of science, entrepreneurship, and local government in activities supporting the development of border regions. During the opening, the importance of transnational cooperation and the role of universities as partners in innovation and socio-economic processes were emphasized.

The program included four discussion panels, addressing topics such as the development strategies of border regions, cross-border cooperation among entrepreneurs, commercialization of scientific research, and the use of European Union funds and regional programs for innovation.

The discussions focused on practical aspects of cooperation and on seeking solutions that respond to the real needs of regions on both sides of the border. Particular attention was given to the importance of dialogue between the academic, business, and local government sectors as a foundation for sustainable development and building partnership relations.

The Cross-Border Science–Business–Local Government Forum confirmed that cooperation based on knowledge, experience, and mutual trust is a key element in the development of the Poland–Lithuania border regions and fosters the initiation of joint transnational projects.
