On January 6, 2023, on the day of the Epiphany, at the Vilnius Polish Culture House, the annual gathering of the Lithuanian Polish Scientists Association took place. During this meeting, the events of 2022 were summarized. The agenda of the meeting included a competition for the best qualification work (bachelor's or master's level) discussing topics related to the Vilnius region. This was the fifth edition of the competition, and eight works were submitted: 3 bachelor's theses and 1 master's thesis from the Balstogė University branch in Vilnius, 2 bachelor's theses from Vytautas Magnus University, and 2 bachelor's theses from Vilnius University. The competition committee awarded 4 works:
1st place and a cash prize of 300 EUR were awarded to Agata Stankievič for the master's thesis "Public Finances in a Demographic Context, Based on Poland and Lithuania" written at the Balstogė University branch in Vilnius, under the supervision of Dr. hab. Alina Grynia.
2nd place and a cash prize of 200 EUR were awarded to Marta Lukojt for the bachelor's thesis "Language Skills of 7-8 Grade Students in Creating and Using Masculine Forms" written at Vytautas Magnus University, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Irena Masojć.
3rd place and cash prizes of 100 EUR each were awarded to two individuals: Evelina Čarnecka for the bachelor's thesis "Christmas Culinary Dictionary in Polish in the Vilnius Region" written at Vilnius University, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miroslav Davlevičius, and Ernestas Zinievič for the bachelor's thesis "Assessment of Bankruptcy Threats in the Lithuanian Logistics Business Based on Selected Examples" written at the Balstogė University branch in Vilnius, under the supervision of Dr. Elżbieta Zalesko.
The cash prizes were sponsored by the Lithuanian Polish Scientists Association.
