On September 30th, the first meeting of first-year students, known as Academic Day, took place at the branch of the University of Bialystok in Vilnius. The event was held in the university’s new building at Makowa Street 22 (Aguonų g. 22). The goal of the meeting was to provide key information needed at the start of studies.
The students were welcomed by the university authorities, followed by meetings with the Dean’s Office and the Career and Promotion Office. Participants learned how to use the services of the Dean’s Office, who to contact with questions, and how to navigate the USOS system and other IT tools. There was also introduced a “Student Guide”—a must-have resource containing essential information about the university’s structure, the organization of the academic year, types of classes, academic etiquette, as well as financial support and opportunities for involvement in student organizations.
The event also included a Q&A session where students could address their concerns. To conclude, senior students held discussions with the newcomers and organized a lottery, where participants could win university-branded promotional items.
We encourage everyone to review the “Student Guide”, which can be found at this link: https://wilno.uwb.edu.pl/student/przewodnik-studenta
