A Dragon’s Tale and Great Imagination

Extraordinary adventures can await in every corner of a book – all you have to do is open its pages and let your imagination transport you to the world of stories. "Meetings with a Book," organized by the J. Korczak Scientific Circle of Pedagogy Students, are a unique opportunity for children to discover stories, meet new characters, and share their impressions with others.

On March 12th, another "Meeting with a Book" took place at the Vilnius Branch of the University of Białystok (UwB), hosting students from class 2b of the Władysław Syrokomla Gymnasium in Vilnius. The young guests had the opportunity to get to know the story "Wesołek the Dragon and the Winter Guests" by Małgorzata Korbiel and Marysia Panas. The story was presented using a cardboard theater, which made the fairy tale characters almost come to life before the children's eyes. Thanks to this, the students followed the adventures of Wesołek the dragon and his unexpected guests with great interest.

During the meeting, the children learned new words and expressions appearing in the story and jointly reflected on its message, while also attempting to represent some of them through gestures and movement. There was also no shortage of games and integration between the students and the younger guests, which constitutes an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in working with children.

"Meeting with a Book" has once again shown that literature can be something more than just reading. It becomes an inspiration for conversation, playing together, and developing imagination. Thanks to the commitment of the students from the Scientific Circle of Pedagogy Students, every such event turns into a unique journey into the world of fairy tales.
